REMAPS was an early attempt at coordinating geographic information in an offline environment. The intention was to integrate with ReliefWeb to facilitate sharing of geographic data between agencies.

The US Government claims ownership of the project though several big players were also involved, including OCHA and GDIN

Despite the big names being involved, history does not record what happened to this project. Ten years later, what was envisaged here is still not possible.
